As a student of Christian Science for more than fifty-five years...
As a student of Christian Science for more than fifty-five years, I have had many physical healings besides other blessings too numerous to mention. I feel it is high time I shared my gratitude for this abundance of good.
About eight years ago the flat where we were living was sold, and we were told that we would receive a thirty-day notice to vacate. This was in the middle of the month. Through prayer we were led to a flat six doors north on the same street. On the twenty-fifth of the month we rented it, and ten days later we moved in. Although we had paid a month's rent where we were living, we were reimbursed for the remainder of the month. Here was wonderful proof of God's provision for His children.
The following healing proved to me the sustaining omnipresence of God, divine Love. Some years ago, while I was walking down a steep incline on my way to work, I turned my ankle and lost my balance. As I fell forward, striking my right arm with great force on the sidewalk, I distinctly heard a bone break. Before getting up I silently declared that God does not know of accidents, and that His man is unfallen. Mrs. Eddy writes on page 424 of Science and Health, "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection." There were several co-workers with me, and I assured them that all was well. Upon arriving at the office, I immediately called a Christian Science practitioner, who agreed to support me through prayer.
