I've had many meaningful healings in Christian Science
I've had many meaningful healings in Christian Science. One took place about seven years ago and left me with a deep appreciation for the everyday practicality of Science. Through gaining a clearer understanding of God—the ever-present All-power, the source of all good—and by recognizing my inseparable relationship to Him, harmony was brought to a tense relationship and a painful physical condition was healed. To me, the entire experience was a continual process of unfoldment.
Although I had been raised in Christian Science, it wasn't until the summer after my sophomore year in high school that I really began to make the teachings of Science my own. Those first two years in high school proved to be full of challenges for me. At the time, I felt my parents were doing me great injustices by restricting my social activities while my friends' parents seemed to allow their kids to do as they pleased. This sour attitude carried over into other areas: my relationships with my brothers and my regard for school and Christian Science. An easy escape, it seemed, was drinking. However, doing this, I found, only increased my problems.
I was aware that my newly acquired activities didn't coincide with the standards and practice of Christian Science; yet I wasn't exactly sure why.
