Spiritual seeing reveals true being

Was there ever a man more unjustly reviled, or betrayed, than the Master? Yet how did he respond to such malice? With love and forgiveness. To be sure, he denounced evil, but he never lost sight of man's true nature. As we're told in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick." Science and Health, pp. 476–477.

Jesus proved that spiritual seeing reveals true being. If he hadn't seen the perfect man, he couldn't have accomplished what, even today, are called miraculous works—his triumphs over sin, disease, and death, over time and space.

Christ Jesus' mission was not just to heal in his time, but to prove the efficacy of the healing Christ for all time. So his imperative "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" Matt. 5:48. is directed to each one of us today. Being perfect is not wishful hoping; it is the spiritual demand for us to be what God has already created us to be—His incorporeal, immortal reflection. And that perfect being requires the spiritual seeing which was Christ's "correct view of man."
