I am grateful for the many healings I have had through the study and practice of Christian Science. As a child I attended a Sunday School of another denomination and read the Bible. I was searching for a better understanding of God and His creation. All my questions were answered when I was introduced to Christian Science. It might seem incredible to some, but I had not even heard the words "Christian Science" until I was in my early twenties. Still, I am grateful that my parents realized that education and a solid moral upbringing were among the things most needed for a good life and could not be taken from us.

One day an aunt left me a copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The Bible and the textbook have been my daily companions ever since, and I have had many wonderful healings.

During a college summer session one year, I and a number of other students and teachers were poisoned by a strong chemical used at the college dairy barn. The poison had accidently got into a can of cream, which was used at breakfast time. Later that morning, after a ten o'clock class, when I was a few feet from my room I was suddenly stricken with severe pain in my body and with blindness. I was close enough to my room to make it on my own, and I went in and closed the door.
