Resting in an active love

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

(Zephaniah 3:17)

Spiritually understood, the love wherein God rests isn't inert or passive, but alive and active. "God rests in action," Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 519. writes Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Omniactive Love is a palpitating presence. Acknowledged, it becomes the motivating force in our lives. It stirs us to good deeds by first producing in us good thoughts.
