The Bible reveals the law of God, the law of Life. This is especially evident in the life and example of Christ Jesus, who said (John 6:63), "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing." And in this age, the truth that he taught is made absolutely clear through God's revelation of the Christ Science to Mary Baker Eddy.

Sometimes when I think of the implications of all this I say to myself: "You sure have a long way to go." But I am comforted by this thought: "We are not mortals striving to be perfect someday. In reality, we are God's immortal ideas right now." And armed with this truth, we can daily defeat a false sense of ourselves as mortals, as we "put off the old man with his deeds; and. .. put on the new man" (Col. 3:9, 10). Like a sculptor, we chip away false beliefs until the true concept shines forth.
