When first I heard of this Science, it was through a Christian Science...
When first I heard of this Science, it was through a Christian Science lecture advertised in the daily newspaper. I don't remember the title of the lecture, but the word "healing" caught my eye. At the time we were down on our luck. So I went to the lecture out of curiosity, although I did not understand much of it. At the close I was handed some Christian Science literature, and on the bus going home I read the testimonies of healing.
Soon I borrowed a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and more issues of the Christian Science periodicals. Everything I read seemed indescribably wonderful, and in a matter of two or three weeks I had given up smoking and drinking. The healing of those habits has been permanent. Other bad habits gradually left me. Since that first healing I have had many trials but also many blessings.
Before studying Christian Science, I rarely had a spare copper. With a small income and a family to care for, it was very difficult to make ends meet. As I am learning more about true substance, adequate supply has come in many different ways. God gives all good; therefore I have realized good cannot be depleted.
