For several years I suffered with pain in my throat, which was so severe that I was unable to speak. I earnestly prayed to God for guidance and enlightenment. And I was constant in acknowledging the omnipotence of Truth, as far as I understood it. Nevertheless, the condition improved only slightly.

On page 14 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy declares, "To be 'with the Lord' is to be in obedience to the law of God, to be absolutely governed by divine Love,—by Spirit, not by matter." This passage helped me a great deal. I also asked for support from a Christian Science practitioner. As a result of her prayer, the fear, doubt, and uncertainty I'd felt began to disappear, and I recognized the healing effect of Truth dissolving many mortal misconceptions. This spiritualization of thought brought complete healing. Through patience and the love of God's law, the difficulty was entirely overcome.

I humbly and sincerely pray to walk in the straight and narrow way. Today I can give thanks as the Bible tells us to (Ps. 150:1): "Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power." For this healing and healings of blood poisoning and dizziness, as well as all the good that my family and I have known through the study of Christian Science, I am always grateful.
