God is with us, always

FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Karin shouldered her knapsack and trudged down the road beneath a piercingly blue, cloudless sky. No cars, no breeze disturbed the stillness. The morning sun flashed on the leaves overhead. "Surely all this beauty is a sign of God's love," thought Karin. Something she had read by Mrs. Eddy in the Bible Lesson In the Christian Science Quarterly. that week came to mind: "Father-Mother is the name for Deity, which indicates His tender relationship to His spiritual creation." Science and Health, p. 332.

The high point of her outing was finding a secluded beach. And as the day wore on, the receding tide kept exposing more and more sand—much to Karin's delight.

When it was time to head back, she decided to climb over the exposed rocks along the water's edge, in hopes of finding a short path to the road. After twenty minutes, though, with no sign of a break to a trail, Karin felt impelled to turn back. Jumping from rock to rock was getting harder, and the tide was fast submerging the rocks she would need for returning.
