Discover your native beauty
Genuine beauty is a spiritual quality, an inward grace inherent in Soul, God. Christian Science helps us know ourselves as the very expression of God. This Science reveals man as made of divinely mental elements, not matter molecules. As the image of Spirit, we in our true being are purely spiritual.
Then, the beauty that we each express is God's—"the beauty of holiness," Ps. 96:9. as the Bible describes it. This loveliness is a quality of thought that is evident in our outward appearance. Mrs. Eddy explains in Science and Health, "Immortal Mind feeds the body with supernal freshness and fairness, supplying it with beautiful images of thought and destroying the woes of sense which each day brings to a nearer tomb." Science and Health, p. 248.
There was a time when I didn't give beauty much importance. It seemed synonymous with vanity, materialism, and superficiality. I realize now that I was caught up in a false sense of beauty, a merely physical concept. What a mistake!
