One winter day I had a very bad cold
One winter day I had a very bad cold. A friend who lived next door had a bad cold too. I thought that I had probably got the cold from her. After I told my mother about this, we called a practitioner. The practitioner asked me to write down things that I knew about God. So I wrote down that God is Love, and that God loves us like the sun shines on the flowers.
Then my mother showed me, in Miscellaneous Writings by Mrs. Eddy, the article called "Contagion" (pp. 228-229). After we had read the article a few times and talked about it, my mother had to go out for a little while. But she told me to keep thinking about what we had read.
While my mother was gone, I decided to write down what the article meant to me: Contagion of sickness is a lie, because there really is no sickness. The only contagion there is, is health. In other words, the only thing that we can catch is good health. Now, if it appears that you are not feeling well, you have let mortal mind sneak past you. But you can be healed!
