Christ Jesus saves from sickness, too

Accepting Christ Jesus and what he taught as our Saviour is the first step in commitment to the Christian life. Sometimes that commitment is voiced; other times it's spoken more clearly through how we live our lives. In both cases future steps are taken by following Jesus' commands. We need to ask ourselves, "Are we obeying them?" Can we exercise eclecticism in our Christian commitment, choosing to follow some of our Master's teachings and electing to ignore others? Can we choose what Jesus saves us from?

These are testing questions we ask ourselves. Hard questions if honestly and deeply faced. Their answers not only determine the way we live but help shape the culture in which others live. Have we seriously considered what effect a denial of God's power to heal has on people?

Anyone who has experienced healing through spiritual means knows the redemption and regeneration that take place. Such healings involve seeing more clearly some of the facts of eternal Life, genuinely recognizing that one's very being flows from God, who is Life. One healed finds the fear that his life is involved in matter's decay has been assuaged somewhat. He has felt divine Love reach him with a beneficent touch, has found solutions to troubling problems, has become a better person. Through Christ, the scriptural truth that God creates man spiritual and perfect has been illuminated for him, changing his thinking and modifying his actions.
