Safety through spiritual law

When fear seems rampant—fear of street crime, accident, environmental disaster, social turmoil, or even nuclear war—nothing could be more timely, or more urgently needed, than the Bible's comforting truth of safety through divine power. In Christian Science this reassuring truth gains impact and practicality for us through the illumined understanding of our Father-Mother God, omnipresent, omnipotent, always with us to be known and trusted.

From the experiences of Abraham and Moses to the lives of the disciples and the travels of Paul, the Scriptures abound with affirmations and illustrations of divine Love's protecting and saving power. The message reaches its zenith in the compassionate healings and the final, mighty victory of Christ Jesus. Of this unfolding truth Mary Baker Eddy writes in the Christian Science textbook, "The central fact of the Bible is the superiority of spiritual over physical power."^{Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 131.} We have only begun to explore the magnitude of what this means and the possibilities it holds for meeting today's needs.

If one takes a concordance and studies the numerous assurances of refuge, strength, and safety given in the Bible, he cannot fail to gain new inspiration and to find invaluable instruction showing how to experience divine Love's protection and guardianship.
