If you love Jesus...
Perhaps while waiting in traffic sometimes you've seen the bumper stickers on automobiles and trucks that say, "If You Love Jesus, Honk!"
Sounding a horn may be an innocent way to express simply, yet enthusiastically, that we acknowledge and respect Jesus' Messiahship. Recently, however, I saw a bumper sticker with a more arresting message. It read, "If You Love Jesus, Tithe! Anyone Can Honk!" This second message implied rather clearly that actions speak louder than words.
We cannot merely say that we love Jesus; we must give evidence of our love. In the words of Mrs. Eddy, "Love cannot be a mere abstraction, or goodness without activity and power." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 250. We who profess to love Jesus, who praise his works, must prove our love by our works.
