Gratitude and a musical career
Before raising Lazarus from the dead, Christ Jesus said, "Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me." John 11:41; Jesus expressed gratitude by giving thanks before, not after, the healing. This statement points to the need for gratitude before we receive the blessings we pray for. Evils also can be overcome through the power of this gratitude.
If we focus our thoughts on things we need or want but don't have, we may lose sight of God's ever-present and inexhaustible goodness, available to everyone. Jesus never doubted the source of all good. When a young man called him "good Master," Jesus replied, "Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God." Matt. 19:16,17;
Christian Science shows that man is just what the Bible says he is—the likeness of God. Man coexists with God, good, and can't be separated from Him, not for a single moment.
