In treatment, deny matter?
Christian Science treatment is unique among systems of healing. It is not a material technique. It does not involve an exercise of human will. It includes no drug, no manipulation of the body.
Christianly scientific treatment is prayer. It is prayer that acknowledges the perfection of God and man so completely, and denies claims of mortality so effectively, that health and good morals regain their natural place in our lives. There is no rote formula for such treatment. It grows out of divine inspiration, spiritually original thought.
The major impulsion of effective treatment comes from our discernment of God's allness. This is basic to the teachings of Science. God is infinite. Spirit is the substance of all being; it gives meaning to all existence. A conviction of this truth, running deep within consciousness, is essential to healing. Only if we are willing to admit the totality of Spirit do we have a basis for recognizing the perfection of man.
