An outstanding proof of God's love in my life has been the supply of whatever was needed to raise my son, alone, since he was two years old. I remember, at one time, being simply desperate. But we depended upon God quite literally for our support, and we were never left without tangible evidence of His love.

I didn't know how I could pay for his college education out of my salary, but we insistently knew that it was God who would supply whatever we needed to attain this worthy goal. Mrs. Eddy assures us (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." My son received a state scholarship for his full four years of college, and during that time he took an examination and received a special appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. God's guidance in our lives was abundantly evident. As Hymn No. 82 reads (Christian Science Hymnal): "God is working His purpose out/As year succeeds to year."

My son graduated from the Academy and immediately was sent to graduate school, where he earned a master's degree. He now has a command position in the Air Force and is able, through his own adherence to the teachings of Christian Science, to help many of the men under his command. He was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School at the age of three, and I am grateful that he has remained steadfast.
