No fear, no anger

Anger often has its roots in fear. We get annoyed with somebody because we believe that he or she can obstruct some opportunity or reward or cause us trouble. But James declared, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."^{James 1:17;} Because good comes only from God, nobody can block it or withhold it.

Christ Jesus demonstrated the immeasurable bounty of God's giving through his realization that the kingdom of God is already established. And through Christian Science we prove by degrees that we live in this kingdom now. We prove that God is divine Mind, guiding each one to successful, satisfying activity. We demonstrate that He is divine Love, melting anger and promoting affection; that He is divine Principle, governing the smallest details and the greatest events and providing good for everybody. We prove that God is infinite Spirit, providing unlimited spiritual blessings that open the way for human needs to be supplied.

In spite of what the world generally believes, God is the only power, and man is His complete, spiritual expression. So anger or fear is really error, nothingness. Mrs. Eddy says of error, "It is that which seemeth to be and is not."^{Science and Health, p. 472.} If we hold to this basic, scientific reasoning, and let it be the basis of our living, we won't be afraid that somebody will interfere with our rights or progress or that we can obstruct another's opportunities.
