Love's control over all
Carolyn and Cathy were close friends. And so when Cathy was unable to attend school because of an injured foot, Carolyn missed her very much. Every afternoon after school Carolyn called Cathy on the phone to tell her all about the day's events and to give her the assignments in each class.
Carolyn offered to bring Cathy all her books on Saturday and stay while her mother went shopping. Both Cathy and her mother were pleased to know Carolyn was coming.
On Saturday afternoon Carolyn put the books for Cathy in her canvas backpack and started on her bike for her friend's house. She loved going there. Cathy lived on a farm, and there were horses and ducks and chickens, Gertrude the goat, Maude the pig, and Mark, the big German shepherd dog.
