Do you want to be called the child of God?
Do you like to be called names? And doesn't it make a difference what those names are? It's great to be called by your own name (fill it in here:—). You probably like to be called "helpful," "obedient," and "nice." But to be called "ugly" or "dumb" is something different.
What about this name—"child of God"? Would you like to be called that? So would I! God tells us what we have to do to receive that name. In the Bible, Christ Jesus said that those who make peace "shall be called the children of God." Matt. 5:9; 2;
What does that mean—"make peace"? No, it's not like making your bed, or making a cake. It is refusing to argue with your brother or sister. It is the willingness to share. It is coming into a room where two people are angry and being kind to both. It is not being mean to that one girl in the class nobody likes. To make peace means to be kind, even if others are being selfish or unthoughtful.
