No start, no finish
What sort of start did I have in life?
But I never did have a start in Life.
I have been forever, for as long as God,
And long before this shadowy world was, or seemed to be.
Mind is forever. I am Mind's idea,
Quite outside time, coexistent in eternity.
I never did begin, nor will I ever end.
I reflect the I AM THAT I AM,
And so I have no fear
Of coming or going
Here or hereafter.
I know there is only here, and now, and I AM.
Know? Yes, I know it,
Even if I don't fully understand.
But day by day, here a little and there a little,
Some small taint of mortality peels off,
Reveals immortal selfhood—
My real being as His living witness.
I trust where I cannot see,
Walk where I cannot run,
Wait on Him when I cannot walk,
And give thanks always that all is very well.
