Samaritan, starting today
Susan M. Schmeltz
Although I may not discover
a wounded stranger lying on my road,
when I hear of someone suffering
beyond my human reach—
somewhere in this neighborhood,
this world—
I will rejoice in Love's presence
that already cares for all.
No more passing by on the other side!
I will not leave them where I find them.
