I remember that as a young girl I told my grandmother of a desire to devote my life to serving God. She said there would be a better way than we had then, and that God would show me. I believe this incident and my desire were the beginnings of my search for God.
While in college I met a young man whose goodness and purity really impressed me. I was a firm believer that one's religious training was an active force in one's life, and I decided to look into his religion, Christian Science. Later we became engaged, and his mother gave me the two textbooks, the Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
