For many years we had desired to adopt a child, and over a period of five years steps were taken to achieve this. After we had filled out a number of forms and undergone many interviews, a kind social worker helped us search for avenues of child placement. My husband, although not then a Scientist, agreed to stand firmly with me in a decision to raise our child in the freedom of Christian Science.
It was inspiring to turn away from the discouraging evidence of lack to the knowledge that God does satisfy all right desires. During all this, my opportunity to teach a class of little ones in the Christian Science Sunday School provided a valuable learning and sharing time. Finally we were pleased at the possibility of adopting a child from overseas. In our prayers my husband and I affirmed that we could trust in God's direction.
