Not afraid of mathematics!

As a college mathematics instructor I often had students come to me and say, "I never could understand this subject. It's always been hard for me." Perhaps you have felt this way yourself.

There is a way out of this impasse, and the Bible shows it to us. The Scriptures are full of people whose ability to perform necessary tasks seemed limited until they turned to God. Joseph, Moses, and Paul are just a few who allowed their lives to be guided by God, and in doing so expressed intelligence and freedom from fear.

On a lesser scale, we can use this same spiritual power to overcome such difficulties as a fear of mathematics or a limited thinking ability. In seeking to surmount a challenge, all three of the men mentioned above first turned to God as the source of all ability. By doing so they turned away first of all from the problem at hand and sought understanding and spiritual sense from God. So must we. In Proverbs we read, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." Prov. 3:5;
