I have been a member of The Mother Church for over fifty years. During this time there have been many proofs of God's loving care and protection. Whether the difficulty was physical, financial, or of another type, it was always met through the study and application of Christian Science.
On September 30, 1978, after a shopping trip, my daughter and I decided to go to a nearby restaurant for dinner. When we left some time later, it was quite dark, and the street lights were not on yet. I missed a step and fell backward onto the concrete. Two men who had just parked in the area helped me into my car.
Because I appeared to have broken something, my daughter took me directly to a hospital. X-rays showed that my right hip was broken, and this was set the next morning. Later, I was taken to a sanatorium for Christian Scientists located in my state.
