"From the infinite elements of the one Mind emanate all form, color, quality, and quantity, and these are mental, both primarily and secondarily" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 512). This statement has been a great inspiration to me. It has helped to remove fear so that my thought has been receptive to the prayerful work of the Christian Science practitioners.

When my parents took up the study of Christian Science, I was not interested in doing so. I realized later that their healings and demonstrations were preparing my thought. When my first marriage ended and my need was great, I too turned to this study, and it has happily sustained me through many years.

Several years ago I became very ill. The symptoms were alarming. I was in much discomfort, and a normal bodily function was interrupted. During this time I was receiving treatment from a practitioner. As the healing came about, my body resumed functioning in a very normal way. I felt free and dismissed the practitioner. However, apparently, latent fear remained in my thought. A week later I was visiting in another city when the symptoms reappeared. Another practitioner was called, who came to my bedside in the middle of the night and read to me for an hour from the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. The symptoms subsided, and the complete healing was accomplished. There has been no recurrence of this condition.
