Constant Reflection
Life sometimes seems to be a giant kaleidoscope, with events changing rapidly. Is there a way that an individual can possibly retain his serenity among changing, turbulent forces?
Christ Jesus was not disturbed by the many claims of suffering that were brought to him to be healed. With calm serenity he met problems of lack, of violent wind and wave, and of people who sought to destroy him. He did not lose his inner sense of quietude and his firm assurance of God's allness. What was the secret of his inner strength? It was his deep understanding that he constantly reflected God. He spoke of his oneness with the Father.
Man cannot lose his constant reflection of God, for he is at one with all that God is. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes, "As a drop of water is one with the ocean, a ray of light one with the sun, even so God and man, Father and son, are one in being." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 361;
