The daily study of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy has been a never-failing help to me, and to my family, through the years of my adult life. At the time of our marriage, my husband was not a student of Christian Science, but he has given support to me in my reliance on it for help and healing, and he is now a devoted student.

Guidance in finding houses, the buying and selling of them; physical healings of multiple insect bites when bees' and hornets' nests were disturbed; healings of ivy poisoning, broken bones, various childhood diseases; and the solving of relationship problems have been some of the blessings resulting from dependence on this Christ-power for help.

A healing for which I feel profound gratitude was of a broken wrist occasioned when I fell one slippery winter day. For the two days following, I prayed for myself, working with some ideas from the writings of Mrs. Eddy. I especially relied on her words to students who visited her home in 1903, recorded in The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany (pp. 170—171), "In parting I repeat to these dear members of my church: Trust in Truth, and have no other trusts." I knew I truly wanted to rely on Christian Science alone for this adjustment, and after praying for myself two days, I requested help from a Christian Science practitioner. This prayerful help was given me for three weeks. At the outset, she spoke to me of the description Mrs. Eddy has given of Jacob's struggle, on page 308 of Science and Health, and urged me not to let go of this until I had received the blessing. During the first several days I did almost nothing but study the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's works, and read Christian Science literature. Soon I found I could resume my church activities, including serving in the Reading Room three days a week.
