I would like to tell here part of all that Christian Science has done for me.
Some years ago I found myself dismissed from my post as a public school teacher, due to retirement, and therefore left without my monthly salary. My daughter had married; and my work as Second Reader in a branch church was concluded.
All this made me feel I was in a state of great emptiness, abandonment, and loneliness. My thought at the time was not unlike Mrs. Eddy's description of ignorant, fearful belief in Science and Health (p. 374), "It is like walking in darkness on the edge of a precipice."
