When I was in grade school I was afraid to do anything in gym because I was a little bit heavy. If I wanted to do anything gymnastic like backbends, headstands, and handstands, something kept telling me I couldn't do it. I guess it was really mortal mind telling me this. My gym teacher told me anyone who put her thought to it could tumble.
The first thing I did when I got home was to start thinking about what she said. Then I thought of what I had learned in the Christian Science Sunday School—that I was God's spiritual idea, His perfect child. If I was made in His image, I was not limited. I could do whatever was necessary.
The next time I went to gym I got on the mat and did everything the gym teacher told me to do. When I graduated from grade school, I had a perfect record, including gym. I got an A and performed as well as anyone in the class. I was so happy when I saw this, and so were my parents.
