Are we accepting the truths we see each day?

Watching Our Moments Brings Healing

The night before the crucifixion, when Jesus had with him his twelve disciples, he knew that one of them would betray him. In the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus took Peter, James, and John aside to watch while he prayed. Instead of watching with him, they slept. When Jesus came back to them and found them asleep, he asked Peter if he couldn't have watched with him for one hour. Speaking of this incident, Mrs. Eddy writes: "Could they not watch with him who, waiting and struggling in voiceless agony, held uncomplaining guard over a world? There was no response to that human yearning, and so Jesus turned forever away from earth to heaven, from sense to Soul." Science and Health, p. 48;

How could the disciples have denied their Master's plea to watch with him while he prayed? Perhaps we have thought: Had I been there, I would not have been unfaithful to Christ Jesus. But how can we be sure?

Do we acknowledge that God is ever present and omnipotent? If one truly believes and knows that God is the only power, then he has laid a firm foundation for withstanding the temptation to deny the Christ. He is then awake to Truth, knowing that all forms of error are a lie. Increased freedom will follow, because he is awake and stays awake.
