Refusing Identity to Disease
God, good, is the I am ; according to the biblical record He so identified Himself to Moses in the wilderness. God is the one infinite Ego of all that truly exists. He expresses Himself in the identity of man and of all that constitutes the spiritual universe.
Since all real identities reflect God, good, they include no element unlike Him, no element of evil, disease, or mortality. We can therefore refuse to admit that disease either is part of our identity or has identity of its own. This refusal, sustained by the infinite power of divine Truth, can act powerfully in the healing of sickness.
A smoothly deceptive word or action is often the chosen approach for a malicious intent. In Gethsemane Judas betrayed Christ Jesus with a kiss and the greeting, "Master." Matt. 26:49; Earlier, in the allegory of Eden, the serpent gained Eve's attention by pretending to take an interest in the instructions given her about which fruit she could eat.
