Many difficult relationships have been worked out for me by thoughtfully reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, with emphasis on the answer to the question "What is man?" found on page 475. "Man is spiritual and perfect; and because he is spiritual and perfect, he must be so understood in Christian Science. Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique. He is the compound idea of God, including all right ideas."
I have had physical healings, too. I once woke up in the middle of the night with a burning throat and a warm throbbing head. I got up and reached for the Christian Science Hymnal and turned to sing silently each of the seven hymns written by Mrs. Eddy. Turning to a final hymn, I read these words (No. 24):
