I am deeply grateful for my understanding of God, and of man's relationship to Him, as explained in Christian Science.

Several years ago I asked my teen-age son to light the pilot in the bedroom furnace, which had gone out several weeks previously. He agreed, and my five-year-old son went along with him. The younger boy leaned way in to watch, and when the pilot was lit, the gas in the closet exploded. The furnace, located in a closet, apparently had been leaking gas. As flames leaped into the air, my older son jumped back, but the younger one did not, and a few seconds later the older boy yanked him out of the closet.

I came running downstairs. The instant I saw my little son I declared that there are no accidents in divine Mind. Quickly I dialed a Christian Science practitioner, who gave us immediate prayerful treatment.
