Dominion, Not Domination
Do you feel frustrated, imposed upon, victimized by some situation or other? If you do, what sort of solutions are you seeking? Do you perhaps find yourself wishing you could gain personal control of things and thus dominate the forces or persons who seem to be pushing you around?
The answer to life's problems, many people have decided, lies in seeing to it that they themselves run the show. Only if they can sit in or near the seat of power, they reason, can they be assured of protection or justice.
But can lasting progress be achieved by substituting one form of dominance for another? Isn't it possible to discover a source of power able to resolve conflicts and meet our legitimate needs?
