Many times since my parents enrolled me in a Christian Science Sunday School, it has been proven to me that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 494).
The very first Christian Science treatment I remember receiving was when a rusty spike went into my hand after I had fallen off a wagon. I am grateful that my aunt, who was a Christian Science practitioner, happened to be visiting us that day. With her help, on this occasion, I early learned that Christian Science heals, for in a short time there was no evidence of the puncture.
One afternoon, years later, when my husband and eldest son had gone to town and I was alone on a ranch with three small children, I saw a prairie fire driven by a strong wind heading straight for our house. I turned to God, completely trusting Him, firmly knowing that we were all in His tender care. Soon the wind lessened, then changed its direction and blew the flames right back into the ashes in the path it had just traveled. When my husband and son returned and asked, "Who put out the fire?" the next eldest boy said, "God did."
