You versus the Establishment?

You've got a new idea. You're convinced beyond any doubt that it's really great. People should snatch up this progressive idea, you reason. But when you present it, response is cool.

The idea is a way to do something better—at school, at home, or in government; in your labor union, your community, or your business. Maybe it's a new educational concept or new product. Or an untried judicial reform, a new approach to your church work, an idea for a film or an article.

Maybe you get angry when your idea gets nowhere. Why can't "they" see the value of it? you may ask. "They": "the establishment," the system, the power structure—the people with the power, you feel, to give you the go-ahead you need to put your new idea into practice or before the public.
