Where Do You Really Live?

Asked by a Christian Science practitioner, "Where do you live?" a woman was somewhat surprised. She did not reply immediately, for she knew that the practitioner had her address.

Then the question was put to her in a slightly different form: "Where do you really live?" This made her realize—she was a student of Christian Science—that the practitioner was turning her thought away from the material picture of lacking a suitable home to the truth of spiritual being, of perfect existence in Mind, God.

It became clear to her that man's real home is not a physical structure but the divine consciousness, where all is under the control of the one God. Home, in its real sense, is harmonious, complete, and ever present. The real, spiritual man can never be separated from home. It includes all right ideas, and all the qualities one would need to make a human household happy and stable. Paul's words can apply to more than the human body: "We have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." II Cor. 5:1;
