With joy I submit this testimony, hoping it will lift the present expectation of others even as the Christian Science periodicals and others' testimonies have lifted and healed me.

Outstanding in my experience was a healing of vision, which took place during the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church ten years ago. I was sitting in the third balcony when suddenly, as the Clerk was reading, I felt a very sharp jerking of the muscles in my temples. Looking around, my eyes fell upon the quotations cut in stone at the front of the auditorium. They were illumined, larger and clearer than ever I had seen them. I was overcome with joy, for I had worn glasses under protest since childhood. Never again have I worn glasses under protest since childhood. Never again have I worn them, and twice have I passed tests for vision. Not long ago someone remarked on my good sight when I was able to read the brass plaque under a painting in a museum from across the room.

While I had not done specific work on the subject of vision, I had been having prayerful help from a Christian Science practitioner in relation to a large-scale promotional project that threatened our home and the way of life of a small rural residential community. Months of uncertainty passed. Increasingly the project gained governmental and other support. Even in the face of defeat, I refused to let go the scientific angel thoughts of truth about the situation until they blessed me. After a time the whole much-publicized activity quietly came to nought. Its leaders dispersed, and in its stead developed a nature conservancy for the preservation of beauty and wildlife, blessing the whole area.
