Need an Idea?

In our daily living we are frequently faced with situations urgently requiring an idea. There may be a number of reasons: a homemaker is planning a special occasion; a student faces an important assignment; a businessman needs an idea for a vital project. One's very job may seem to depend upon his getting an idea.

Whatever our particular need may be, too often we find ourselves lamenting, "I don't have an idea; I can't think of anything new! Everything has already been done. Why, I don't even know where to begin!"

We can do something about these uncertainties. The place to begin, of course, is in our thinking. Instead of letting our thought run wild with anxieties, we need to control it. Pressures that build up into fear tend to obstruct and paralyze the free flow of ideas. But we can wipe out these fears. They are aggressive suggestions, originating in mortal mind, or the belief of a life apart from God, divine Spirit. To destroy them, we need to replace them with the truth that we are God's fearless, perfect children.
