Blameless Being
At one time or another we may blame ourselves for the discords in our experience. We may even believe that discords are punishment inflicted upon us by divine will. But Christian Science shows that the fears of negative, mortal mind, the seeming source of all human difficulties, are overcome and destroyed when our consciousness is filled with the spiritual qualities of God, good. It proves through healing that God is divine Love and that error of thinking is no part of the real man, who is spiritual and immortal.
Do the so-called qualities of mortal mind originate in us? Are we to blame for its errors?
Christian Science explains that erroneous qualities, expressed as hatred, dishonesty, selfishness, sensuality, and so forth, do not belong to the God-created man. They are the figments of mortality, the suppositional opposite of God, divine Mind. Mortal mind would, if it could, have us feel disturbed, unworthy, even sinful. But it is supposititiously self-created, therefore unreal, and its so-called qualities do not belong to or become a part of man's true identity, the image and likeness of God.
