I am most grateful for having had Christian Science in our home from the time I was a baby. My mother was healed in Christian Science after she was given up by the doctors, and she lived for many years. Her testimony was published in a Sentinel of November, 1951. Christian Science has continued to bless us all these years, and we have had many healings and evidences of God's protecting care. I have had class instruction, and am an active member of a branch church.

This past year I had two beautiful healings for which I am most grateful. The first one was a condition of one of my ears, which for quite a while had crackling and popping sounds. Then one day the noises stopped, but the ear felt as though there were a plug in it. I prayed to know there could be no obstruction to good. I also held in thought what Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p.486): "Sight, hearing, all the spiritual senses of man, are eternal. They cannot be lost. Their reality and immortality are in Spirit and understanding, not in matter,—hence their permanence."

I hadn't realized just how much my hearing had been affected, until one night I was fixing dinner and my husband said something to me. I didn't hear him and asked him to repeat it. Then in a loud voice he said, "Dear, do you realize it is getting harder for you to hear every day?" Having him voice the apparent situation made me rise in rebellion at the suggestion, and I denied it vehemently to myself. About a week later I was lying down reading a Sentinel and dropped off to sleep. I was awakened by the ringing of the telephone, and it sounded as though it was right in my ear. I jumped up, and all at once I stopped. The plug, or feeling of obstruction, in my ear was gone, and I could hear perfectly. I stood in the middle of the floor and thanked God.
