Awakening to Spiritual Reality

One night I dreamt that I was in charge of some students I had worked with in everyday school activities. They were normally a most cooperative and pleasant group, but this was far from the case in my dream about them. They seemed to be doing everything they shouldn't. The more I tried to discipline them, the worse they became. I was worried, frustrated, exasperated.

Then I woke up.

As I lay thinking about the dream, I realized how completely unnecessary my worry and concern had been. An illusive state of consciousness had fabricated a bad situation, had given it an apparent objective reality, and then had become concerned about alleviating it. The solution was not found in the dreaming but in the awakening. This showed that in actual fact the situation had never existed.
