Spiritual Substance, a Present Fact

The fact that man is made of indestructible spiritual substance, and not of destructible matter, was basic to Christ Jesus' life. He proved the practical value of this spiritual understanding by "healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people," Matt. 4:23; as the Bible relates.

The world marveled at the authority with which he healed, but being too materially-minded to comprehend how his works were done, most people assumed that he was endowed with some special power, and so the possibility of its consistent, law-sustained availability to others was temporarily overlooked.

This state of ignorance largely prevailed for centuries, but the revelation of Christian Science has thrown more light on the subject by showing what it was that gave Jesus such marvelous healing power, making it possible today for everyone to heal on the same basis as the Master.
