One day after school I came home and was looking out the window. I turned to throw away a piece of paper, and when I threw it in the basket, I happened to notice a strange little container. I didn't know what it was, and I picked it up. While I was looking at it, I squeezed it, and liquid squirted out covering the area around my eye. I tried to wipe it off, but it dried instantly, partially closing my eye. It was a container of glue.
I was alarmed at the moment and not sure what to do. I called to my sister, who was home with me, and asked her to read to me from the Bible. She was rather frightened, but she sat down and read to me. I knew that if I cleared my thought of all fear I could rely on God's law to help me.
Very shortly my mother came home. I was no longer afraid but couldn't open my eye, and she called a Christian Science practitioner, who agreed to pray for me. By the next morning almost all the glue had come off my lashes, and the blurriness in seeing left before I arrived at school.
