[Ability to demonstrate Christian Science comes with study and practice of the truth taught by Christ Jesus and revealed in Science and Health. This series touches upon some ways in which this truth can be applied.]
Healing through understanding Mrs. Eddy's place
When we attempt to heal the sick through prayer, we need to understand that we have authority to do it.
Each of us has a place in history. Our place, at this moment, may be that of healer—healing this particular individual of this particular ailment. But how do we know?
Christ Jesus exemplified Christ, Truth. He taught the Science of this Truth. But he left the explanation of the rules whereby we can apply the Christ Science to be discovered at a later time. He said, "I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever." John 14:16. Mary Baker Eddy's discovery of Christian Science is the coming of that Comforter. We have the truths of God and man and the rules for applying those truths because of what she did.
