When I was just beginning to learn to read, I received a Bible as a reward for recitation at the Sunday School I attended. My parents were not, at that time, active churchgoers, but they always saw to it that my brother and I regularly attended a Sunday School. I do not recall if anyone told me I should do so or not, but from the moment I received my Bible I faithfully and consecutively read a few verses every day.
Years passed, and I had read the entire Bible through many times, understanding little but loving all I read, until my copy literally disintegrated. This was shortly after my marriage, and at just about the same time Christian Science came into our lives, along with a new Bible and its precious accompaniment, the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.
Since witnessing the first marvelous healing of my husband more than twenty years ago, I have been a student of this Science.
