I was introduced to Christian Science by a fellow Army officer...
I was introduced to Christian Science by a fellow Army officer in North Africa during World War II. Since that time I have seen so many proofs of the efficacy of this Science that I can never again doubt its ability to heal any human problem.
When a routine chest X ray, required by my employer, yielded positive results, I was told to go to a specialist for further examination. The specialist, after taking several large X rays, said that I had a lung inflammation. He made an appointment for me to go to the county health department two weeks from that date for further X rays.
Because I was a schoolteacher, I knew that I would in all likelihood be required to stop teaching and go to the county sanatorium until this difficulty was cured. Since my salary was the only income for our family of four, and since we had recently bought a new house which entailed heavy monthly payments, I was almost overwhelmed by fear.
