Fresh Light of Healing

Christian healing is a mountaintop experience. It never leaves one where it finds one. In such healing, identity and purpose take on fresh meaning because the Christly understanding of God, divine Spirit, throws a new light on man and his environment. It reveals man in the shining light of Love as the image of his creator.

The Bible reveals that man is made in the image of God, and Christian Science explains and amplifies this fact, showing us how a knowledge of it can help us work out daily problems. The truth of God and man brings healing to our troubled relationships, our bodily ills, and the frictions of daily living. It makes expressing genuine love to others a possibility and a joy. It enables us to prove that integrity and uprightness are divinely successful. Living becomes a spiritual adventure.

Once we perceive the implications of our sonship with God, our thinking rises above the dullness of being a mortal. Then we are less likely to think of ourselves in mortal terms, as fitted into mortal categories, held back by mortal limitations. The aliveness of the truths of spiritual being brings us an awareness of the beauty and perfection of our own God-created identity. As this awareness enters into the heart of an individual, as it becomes the very fiber of his thinking and acting, healing has to take place.
